The Lion cub

The real purpose of leading a spiritual life is that we should tear away the veil of maya (illusion) and matter, and recognize ourselves as the soul, which is super conscious and is a particle of the ocean of super consciousness
- Philosophy of the Masters

Here's a small story, which you may have heard, but the moral drawn may have never been the same.

A lioness who had just given birth to a cub had to leave it for a while to go out hunting. A shepherd found the cub, took it home and brought it up on sheep's milk. With time it grew up. One day a lion saw the cub grazing among the sheep. He approached the cub and said, "You are a lion."

"No, I am a sheep," replied the cub.

"No you are a lion," the lion repeated. But the cub would not believe him.

"Come with me to the river," the lion said.

When they reached the river, the lion said, "Look into the water. Don't you and I look the same?"

"Yes" the cub was convinced.

"Now roar with me," said the lion.

As they roared, the sheep and the shepherd fled.

Our senses are the sheep and our mind is the shepherd. The mind has confused the soul through the senses. Just as the lion comes in contact with the cub, the Master meets the soul and says, "You are the soul, the particle of the supreme Lord, go within and realize your self"
Under the guidance of a Master, the soul discovers its true identity and becomes free of the mind and the senses.

Hey Ayu, First of all, I am so sorry for replying so late as had been very busy last week so couldnt come ol whole week!!

Hmm and your poem, again so minimal words that speak a lot. You are a fab poetess too ayu!!:)

Hmm I'll need some time to think on it, but for now, heres my take on it:

Shining, glittering, the sun broke down
Whooshing winds, scattered crown

It seems to signify a sad ending of a glorious beginning and a babbled mind that cannot fight the flow of change, signifying the helplessness and lost feeling

Unbeholden mist of dusk and leaves
Wrinkling eye suddenly weeps

Clearly the autumn is not only in the outside world but within too, the dry ending of a green lush past and the load of emotion bursts out through her eyes, leaving her scattered.

Sad scenery in her twisted sanctuary
Falling like rain in mid-January

Her Life is painted with the sad imagery of separation and loneliness and the vague of it is so very intense, as if it rains in mid January.

You know ayu, here I would like to share a very old Hindi song, which strikingly paints the same picture as in your picturesque poem, its one of my fav songs too, a song called "Yaara sili sili" from a 1991 hindi film called "Lekin". Heres the link
